Benjamin Phan (aka Ben10) is originally from Queens, New York. Through his middle school and high school years, he had been inspired by the dancing in music videos and tv shows which was the start to his journey in dance.

After high school, he discovered the Orlando dance community, where he gained recognition and experience through dance battles with the crew Xternal Technique. In 2010, he joined Extreme Dance Company, an all-star dance program based in Melbourne, FL. With this team, he earned multiple gold medals in the U.S. and even appeared on America’s Got Talent. His success with Extreme led to his involvement with Studio One, where he contributed to winning a Gold Medal at the 2013 USA HHI Championship. From 2011 to 2019, he toured internationally with Fighting Gravity, a blacklight performance group best known for their standout performances on America's Got Talent.

In 2013, he founded his own crew, "&friends," and under his leadership, the group quickly made a name for itself, winning major competitions like World of Dance and Prelude Dance Competition. This success paved the way for the creation of theSQUAD, an adult Megacrew, in 2015. He continues to direct theSQUAD, which has claimed victories at World of Dance (Orlando 2018, Miami 2019, Atlanta 2023), four consecutive Prelude South Dance Championships (2016-2019), and UCF’s Orlando’s Got Talent, among others. They now serve as the host team for Prelude South where he is the MC of the show! Most recently, theSQUAD won Silver Medals at the 2024 USA HHI Championships and represented the USA as a World Semi-Finalist, finishing in the top 20.

In addition to directing, Ben has taught, performed, and judged worldwide, working with brands like Old Navy and Universal Studios. He is also a member of the FunkyWunks dance crew and currently teaches at Xplosive Dance Academy.
